Awesome guide janeen and I just got back from our first major find of the year black morels. Most were found near hardwoods, cherry in particular. We also found 3 new patches cant wait to see what they will yield within the next couple of weeks. The thunderstorm that went through yesterday really got the morchella stimulated to grow. Must have been multiple strikes near the new patches. DONT EAT WILD MUSHROOMS BUY THEM IN THE STORE ITS SAFER AGJ These morels were found by cherry trees and weird fern ground cover.

Alright, I didn't believe you that lightning and mushrooms are related but I found an article on National Geo that spells it out and lightning more that doubles the yield of mushrooms who would of thunk it. Oh yeah Joe
